Kids going Crazy!
Heya parents, we gotta work on keeping the kids safe during the adult WODs. When adults are on the main floor working out, it is hard for us coaches to watch after them and make sure they are safe. Also it makes adults hard to concentrate on their technique when they are worried about dropping a weight on the kiddles. And if we don’t address it, its just a matter of time before someones child gets hurt or someone hurts themselves because they lost concentration.
If you’re in a middle of a workout and your child roams out into the workout room, the coaches don’t mind at all if you take a short break and usher your kid back to the playroom. Totally fine with this. We love it when you come and do a workout, they really need to stay in there for the duration of the workout.
Also if you see someones kid roaming free they may not know about it. The coach will just let you know he’s out and it’s ok to take a break.
Some ideas to help remedy this:
1. Kids complain that the radio is too loud and they can’t hear the TV. We’re working on making the wall a bit taller to help out.
2. I have a spare TV, does anyone have a cartridge gaming system (like nintendo / super nintendo / or nintendo 64) that we could throw in there. Or if anyone finds one for cheap, let me know. I like the cartridge gaming stuff ‘cuz we’ll have little ones that like to scratch discs.
3. Kids playing on stuff and messing around is totally awesome before and after a workout. If there is a workout going on before or after, you can usually supervise them in the back room or bay if you want to show up late or stay late. Just make sure they are careful.
4. If you are hitting a workout hard and about to get a great score and your kid comes out, most coaches don’t mind helping out getting your kid back in there or holding her until you’re done.
And if you have any ideas you’re welcome to share to comments.
